On Jan. 8, the Xulian (Xuzhou-Lianyungang) High-Speed Railway started the full operation test, which will last about a month. It is expected to be fully operational in early February. The Xulian High-speed Railway starts from Xuzhou in the west and ends at Lianyungang City in the east. The main line is about 180 kilometers long with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour.

The Xulian High-speed Railway will complete the connectivity of the Eurasian Continental Bridge channel extending from Lianyungang to Urumqi, shortening the travel time from Lianyungang to Xuzhou to one hour and to two hours for Nanjing, Zhengzhou and Jinan.

The completion of the Xulian High-speed Railway is of great significance for further improving the national high-speed railway network, boosting the economic and social development in northern Jiangsu and southern Shandong and the high-quality integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta.
